We all love art right? No matter the style and the method of its creation it can create strong emotions within us, be that good or bad. So what better thing to do during our Week of Madness celebrations than to host an art exhibition on sim so that our members can show off their talents and feelings after our first year of existence.
It’s been an amazing year with so much happening and that is why we want to invite you to best describe what you feel captures “The Essence of TT”. Because we want as many contributions as possible we have decided to split the event into two sections, the People's Choice and Judges Choice competitions.
The exhibits will be available from the start of the Week of Madness until the day of the event on the 28th. A specially designed zen garden has been constructed by Camilla for the event, so drop by and if you feel like it then submit some art for all to see!
As mentioned, Tall Tails is celebrating its first year anniversary during the Week of Madness. The exhibit will open on the first day of the anniversary, 24/05/2021, and will be located at the event platform found here.
The exhibit will run throughout the whole week. One section of the exhibit will be for the open submission and another part will be for those who want to enter into the competition part of the event. Because we need some time to set this all up, entries must be delivered no later than 21/05/2021 to the post box that will be available next to the main stable building here.
On Friday the 28/05/2021 there will be an event hosted by Magic Lacroix and Camilla, everyone will be invited
To enter your picture into the event, we ask that you fill out the form that you will receive by clicking the poster for the event that is next to the post box, the notecard will ask you for the following details;
Name:
Username:Want to enter into the competition: Yes/No
Title of picture:
Reason why you feel this picture captures the Essence of TT:
All pictures that are entered into the competition will also be available in a channel on our Discord for convenience.
During the Anniversary week all pictures will be displayed and for those who have submitted their picture to the contest, voting boxes will be up on their pictures. All Tall Tails group members are invited to give their vote.
Please Note:
Remember to attach full perm picture to this notecard in a 4:3 format (Width:Height)
Ensure the image is no larger than 2048:1536 pixels.
As you may have noted, the Exhibit will be running for five days throughout the Week of Madness, and will culminate in a final event on the Friday. Below is how we will be splitting the event up and how each segment of the event will be handled.
The date for entering into the competition has now been passed. No further submissions will be accepted.
Starting on Monday, 24/05/2021, all the artwork submitted to the competition will be on display at the zen garden found here, everyone is welcome to come and look and voting will be open for all. Every person will be given 3 votes that they can give to any image that they wish. Each vote is worth a different amount of points.
Vote 1= 3 Points
Vote 2 = 2 Points
Vote 3 = 1 Point
Please note that once you have voted you can not remove your vote, so be sure you are happy with your choice before confirming the vote. If you wish to change your vote you must contact Magic, Molly, or Camilla. A change of vote will only be done under very exception circumstances.
Also, all votes while anonymous to the public are monitored by the event supervisors. Any suspicious activity will be dealt with firmly.
The result of the vote will be announced during the main event on 28/05/2021 by Camilla.
The Judges Choice award will be the focus of the main event of the Art Exhibit & Competition. During the main event, the public will have the last chance to view and vote for the art on display, but it will also be the time that the unidentified judges will be out to view and select their favourite piece of art at the event.
There will be three judges, all of whom will be unknown to the public, and will they will also have three votes to distribute among the art just like the rest. The difference is that their top pick for the event will be awarded with a Judges Choice trophy.
Once the judges have made their choices, all awards will be handed out and the event will come to a close.
Tall Tails means so much for each and everyone of us. And we would like to know what you feel about our home by attempting to capture its essence. Be it the deep ponyplay immersion, the talented and dedicated trainers, the ongoing war between the Ponizei and the Ponifia, the gorgeous ponies and mares or the craziness that seem to occur once in a while when we all need to blow ogg some steam. We want to know just what makes this place so unique. For you.
The rules are simple. We would like to see a picture of what you feel captures 'The Essence of TT'. Your choice of art form to express this is free. All we want is a picture in 2048x1536 (w:h) or smaller that is attached to the submission form that you need to fill out. Please make sure that the pictures are full perm so that we actually can display it. Only one picture per person will be allowed into the competition. If there are multiple entries, the first one will be chosen.
If you wish to display a piece of art which is not a picture, then please speak with Camilla or Magic about your idea.
The criteria for judging a picture will be equally weighed between how well the picture relates to the current theme, creativity and techniques applied. Obviously we cannot dictate how the group as a whole will vote.
Below can be found all the artwork submitted to the Art Exhibit
Tall Tails is many things. Full of beautiful and unique people brought together through a shared kink of restraint of the elegance of pony play. Unfortunately, sometime those with the biggest burden crack, and they use their position of power to bully and cajole the power ponies of our sim into obeying their every whim.
My artwork represents one of Tall Tails darkest moments, when our Ponizei Captain used the threat of 'le poulet' to bring a poor innocent ponymoo into line.

TT is a lot of things, but to me it is a safe and welcoming place that I can be myself. I wanted to include the Welcome sign, as well as the Pride flag over our community center, 3 things that to me show our acceptance of those that come to visit. All of this is from the point of view of me as a kitty, from the safety under the bench.

I am new as groom at TT, and a "blonde" one that went exploring. Humor is good and want to show some level of normal crazyness.

For me the essence of TT are the people, the beautiful sim and the hard work done to organise events and challenges like the achievements. All those 3 feature in this picture.

While it doesn't apply to everyone in the pony space a lot of us have two faces, one in tack and one out of tack. The Trainer and the Pony, I feel like this picture does a good job of showing several faces around TT in both their forms, the Pony and the Trainer/Groom. It's a good showing of who we are and how we are in the full of it.

To me the essence of TT is the amazing community who make you so welcome and supported, never judged. A place that helps you develop on your journey in the BDSM and pony community. Always something new to discover, someone else to help you along the your path. A feeling of being valued for who you are and not 'what' you are. Being part of something more.

I admit it. I am no TT regular so do I know all intricacies of what makes your place work? No I won't even pretend I know. I do visit, I do catch things, I do enjoy observing. I never had a bad encounter with anyone while visiting and your spunky feisty part time cop part time pony is someone who stands out to me. She is funny in her bratty way!
I don't know Axelle, I don't interact with her outside of occasional banter but it seems to me she is an integral part of what makes TT be TT. I find her uniquely refreshing from my somewhat distant point of view and "unique personalities" do make or break a community. In your case, it clearly is beneficial.
Plus I have wanted to go outside my own comfort zone with a photo dress-up and go green for some time now. So taking inspiration from her? Why not! Plus I got to toy with a different style of art while at it.

Long ago, I had resigned myself to the forlorn state of pony play in SL. Then, the emergence of Tall Tails came upon me as the dawning of a new hope.

The unmatched environment of Tall Tails allows for an immersive experience for those on the path of pony play, or pony trainer.

In our experiences of carting at Tall Tails, we've encountered our fair share of 'mishaps'. On one occasion, we had a runaway cart roll backwards down a hill with poor Freya still aboard after PonySamm was unhitched (because 'someone' forgot to put on the handbrake). On another occasion, our cart managed to literally jump off a bridge while chasing after an Easter Egg (will refrain from mentioning who was pulling on that occasion...). I feel this photo aptly portrays the essence of our experiences and shenanigans at TT. My only hope is we live to tell about this one! (P.S. No ponies were harmed in the making of this photo)

There are so many things that make up the Essence of TT, but for me what has separated TT from a lot of other stables is the curiosity to learn or see the person behind the hood. To not just interact with the pony, but to really understand why i am reacting the way i am and learn to know the person beneath.

This Artwork was exhibited but was not part of the contest.
The race at the 3rd place was very tight. Here is an overview about the votes (shown are the top 6)
60 people voted for the artwork. A big Thank You to all the voters supporting our artists!
We were very honoured to have such a great Jury for the TT Art Contest. In serious debates and with all their expertise the Judges came to an agreement:
Here our 3 Judges Raven, Sadal and Gator.
here are the words of Judge Raven:
Sometimes it happens that something pops up completely unexpectedly and so it was in this competition. We had everything sorted out for the three places we already announced, but then there was something that kept tugging on our minds… It was a picture that was intended as a joke by its artist, but in the end is the finished product really a joke?
We wanted to capture the essence of Tall Tails as the theme and to capture something with so many different variables in play is very difficult at best. Usually it tends to go into something that can only be felt, but not seen and somewhere among there are the ups and downs of this wonderful community I am glad to be a part of. There are wonderful times, but there also are ‘horrible incidents’.
And some of them are so hilarious that you will never forget them and become an iconic part of the history of the sim. One of these incidents managed to terrify a poor pony moo to this day. It was during the dark night of horror when an unnamed green french assailant popped up in the stable and brought out the unspeakable creature of evil!
And what a scary creature it was! To fully understand the extend of the issue, we had to dive deep into the unknown, face our deepest fears and track down this yellow monster! In the blackest night in a deep cave we finally found it and accidentally made a picture of this moment with the camera we brought with us.
I’m… way to scared to think back on what happened next, but after this we fully understood the danger and the horror of this vile creature and finally managed to judge the art submission in question with our newfound qualifications. The brave and fearless artist risked her body and mind to create a piece of art that will help to tell the tale to the next generations, so they won’t ever be without preparations for the very worst. Keeping history alive and moving forward together and being a bit silly is what holds a community together and the picture itself has a wonderful presentation as well. There might not be any difficult techniques involved or hours or work, but sometimes astonishing results can be achieved with just a bit of luck and the right placements of the objects to let if feel “just right” for the people seeing the picture.
And since we do like being positively surprised by something that didn’t aim for that kind of thing we decided to give out a special award for this picture. And since this time a chicken was involved there, the award will be called “Le Poulet” and personally I hope that it will keep appearing in future competitions as well in case an unusual and unexpected, but well done picture shows up. But we are in the present times, so today the very first Le Poulet award goes to Molly for her picture “l'horreur “.
That was an unexpeted surprise and lots of fun. Thank You dear judges for all your serious judgement!
