¶ Introduction
Tall Tails is a super serious ponyplay sim! As a super serious ponyplay sim we host only the most serious and realistic of events! With that said, during the Week of Madness we will be hosting the first ever SecondLife ponyplay based Sumo Championship!
People who have been visiting the sim for some time will already be aware that thanks to help from Danna Pearl, we have our very own dedicated sumo arena on sim that we have used to good effect on multiple occasions, so much so that we went on to create the Sumo Warrior achievement to reward those who have the grit and guts to win one of our impromptu tournaments.
While we can *all* see the real world ponyplay parallels that this events was born from, the Sumo Championship will make it clear to the SecondLife world who truly is the strongest and most resilient pony anywhere on the Grid!

¶ When & Where is it Happening?
The Sumo Championship will be happening during the Week of Madness on 24/05/2021 at 12PM SLT, it will be the opening event of the week and we hope to have a large crowd to watch!
The event will be hosted at the main rezzer at the Sky Training Platform, you can get there by clicking here.
If anybody would like to rez the arena before hand to get an idea of what they will see during the event, please use the eastern rez board and select Sorrowman 'Scrap' Yard.
¶ How Can I Take Part?
Taking part is easy! Simply turn up on the day in tack and make it clear to Molly Lacroix that you wish to take part in the event. Carts will be provided for all ponies.
If you wish to watch and not take part in the event itself then there we be seating available outside of the arena. Pony Sumo can be a very laggy event due to the large amount of carts and people concentrated in one area, so staying behind the lag shields is something we encourage everyone not taking part to do.
The winner of the tournament will take home the Tall Tails Sumo Championship 2021 belt!
¶ Rules
Pony Sumo is a simple sport for simple ponies, but there are still rules that must be followed in order to keep things from descending into total madness! Please read the following rules and commit them to memory as anybody not following them will be disqualified.
- All participants must be in some form of pony tack.
- All participants must use an MG Sulky cart provided by the rezzers found within the cargo containers at Sorrowman ‘Scrap’ Yards.
- There must be nobody sat on the seat of the MG Sulky.
- Once eliminated from the tournament, send your MG Sulky home and exit the arena and wait in the stands with the crowd.
- The tournament will last for multiple rounds, each round the first person to hit the ground will be eliminated from the tournament. This will be done until one person remains.
- The arena will become 10% smaller after every minute until nobody is left on the arena platform.
- The winner of the tournament is eligible for the Sumo Warrior achievement if they do not already own it.
- Respect the decision of the event host. It is not uncommon for two people to hit the ground at around the same time. The host may ask the crows for their opinions, but their decision is final.

The Sumo Championship was a fantastic opening to the Week of Madness. We had a total of 16 ponies turn up to take part in the festivities and a crowd watching that was almost double that size, which given the silly nature of the event was especially nice to see.
The ponies who fought in the tournament gave it there all and it really was a pleasure to watch. Axelle was out designated ring Mistress for the games and did her best to keep all the sillies in line while Molly watched from atop her safety ladder.
In the end, after two hours of constant fighting the final round was between Blacky and Sin, Which despite all previous rounds taking three minutes or more only lasted a total of 12 seconds! Although we might come to regret it, Sin Cruz is the office 2021 Sumo Champion!
