¶ Introduction
Pimp My Cart was an iconic event at the first ever Week of Madness, so much so that after it was over, we saw many people start to come up with new designs and ideas which are used in carts across Tall Tails even now. The whole project was born from a silly idea from Danna Pearl on a quiet night at the Bit & Bridle, where in a bored state we pondered the possibility of having a carting show where entrants could show off all their unique and interesting variations of the MG Dogcart that is so prevalent within ponyplay.
We had a fantastic time last year and as it was such a spectacular success we have decided to make Pimp My Cart a major feature of the Week of Madness going forwards. So, if you have any fun and special cart designs you would love to show off then please don’t hesitate to reserve a spot.

¶ When & Where is it Happening?
Pimp My Cart takes place during the Week of Madness and is the highlight of a series of events that run all week to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Tall Tails.
A special event platform has been created by Cookie, Molly, and Magic and can be found by going here.
The platform will be split into three sections, the landing walkway, the Pimp My Cart display pens and the Art Competition zen garden. It should be fairly obvious to people visiting which platform is what!
The Pimp My Cart display pens will be opening at the start of the Week of Madness on 27/05/2022 at 12PM SLT, from this time on members of the public will be able to vote on their favourite carts throughout the week. The main event itself will be held on 04/06/2022, which is a Sunday, and will start at 10AM SLT. This might feel a little early to some, especially those across the pond in the Americas, but last year we had a surprisingly large amount of entries for the competition and we want to ensure that things do not drag on for an extreme length of time. It took approximately 5 hours in 2021 for the event to be completed.
¶ How Can I Take Part?
The Pimp My Cart event is available to anybody who has an interest in creating and showing off their cart designs. Simply contact Molly Lacroix either on Discord or in SecondLife and provider her with following;

Do you just want to watch? Well that is even simpler, simply turn up on the day of the event and watch all this carty goodness unfold! Who knows, maybe it will give you some ideas for next time?
Remember that while the main event is at the weekend, voting is open all week so please don't forget to stop by and show your love to the cart designs you enjoy the most.
¶ What Will Happen at the Event?
As mentioned, the event officially opens at 12PM SLT on 27/05/2022. All members of the public are invited to go and browse and select their carts of choice.
The main event will take place on the Saturday of the Week of Madness, 04/06/2022 at 10AM SLT. At this time the main judges will be present and begin to look through all the carts on display to score them based on certain criteria. Some of this criteria will be judged on a personal level and not be objective. All participants must be at the event to answer questions of the judges and demonstrate their cart in acting. A designated proxy can be sent in your place if you can not attend the event.
Based on the above, we will be splitting the awards into categories.
¶ Peoples Choice
This is the vote that will be open from the start of the Week of Madness. Everyone will be able to give five votes to five unique participating carts, and when the event timer runs out the top three Cart Teams will win a medal for their efforts. All votes will be anonymous and each cart will be ranked based on the amount of votes they received.
The votes will run all throughout the week, when you are at the Pimp My Cart display pens simply look for a little Pick Me sign next to the name of each cart, if you click this your vote will be registered. Votes can not be changed, so be certain when selecting your carts.
And for the silly ones out there, you will not be able to vote on your own cart. All votes will be logged and if we feel alt accounts are being used we will take very firm action.
The People Choice medals will be handed out at the event before the Judges Choice awards are revealed. So voting will close during the main event on 04/06/2022. Molly Lacroix will announce to all when the vote will be ending, so keep an eye out and be sure your votes are counted before then!
¶ Judges Choice
Starting at 11AM on 04/06/2022, the Judges Choice will be the main feature of the Pimp My Cart event. We will have three judges on sim who will take a good look at each entry on display and judge them based on pre-determined criteria. Please keep in mind that some of the categories will be subjective to the individual judges and some will be more technical in nature. While the judges are walking around and checking out what is on offer, we ask that members of the team stay with their own display to answer any questions they might have.
Once the judges have had a chance to see each cart the event will move on to the presentation stage. A special course has been created for teams to show their carts in action, you can check it out by going here. Here each team is able to give a speech to the people who have gathered to watch, and then complete two circuits of the track to prove that their cart works, this is an excellent time to show off any unique properties of your cart.
Once all cart teams have had a chance to show their vehicle in action, a break will be had to allow the judges to fully score each cart, ask any questions they may have and then send the scores to Molly Lacroix.
Molly will then announce the winner of the People's Choice and the Judges Choice competitions.

¶ What Are the Rules?
Well this is the important part, so pay attention! As we intend for the event to run for 3 hours, with some wiggle room for it to run for at most five, we ask that all entrants read and understand these rules. If you have any questions please contact me to ask.
- Only one cart can be entered per Team. A team can consist of one to three participants. A participant can only belong to a single team, and judges can not participant in the judges Choice award.
- Each team must have a team name and a name for their cart.
- Display ponies can be used on your cart. Unless specified on team registration they will not be considered as a part of the Carts Team.
- The cart that is created must come in an unscripted ‘display’ version (this will be used for rezzing in the show area) and also a version that is capable of being used as a genuine carting vehicle. A small track will be present during the event for showing the cart in action.
- Any cart can be used so long as it has been modified from its base design. It must however have a space for one pulling pony.
- A cart must be 100LI or lower. A cart with a higher LI will be disqualified.
- Each cart will be given an 8m x 8m display zone, teams are allowed to decorate this zone as they please but must keep all decoration below 50LI.
- Each Team must be willing to explain the design of their cart to an assembled crowd.
¶ How Will the Judges Score?
It is important for the Judges Choice that we explain the criteria by which the carts will be assessed. Please remember that many of these categories will be entirely subjective to the judges and their personal likes and dislikes, and some will be easier to quantify.
Each category will be judged on a scale of 1 to 10 points.
This means each cart can earn a total of 30 points per judge for a maximum score of 90 points.
In the event that we have two carts with the same score, a tie will be decided by the seniority of ranking both carts had in the People’s Choice vote.
¶ Does the Cart Work?
1: The cart is totally broken and purely decorative.
5: No changes have been made to the base cart other than basic decorations.
10: The cart has multiple new features and unique curios.
¶ Is the Cart Aesthetically Pleasing?
1: The cart is a total mess.
5: The cart has very little to differentiate it from the base model.
10: The cart has a pleasing style and fits its theme well. This is not about a judges preferred style, but whether the Cart team has created something which looks good.
¶ Is the cart an original design?
1: The cart is almost the exact same as the base model.
5: The cart has deviated from the base model but is still recognisable.
10: The cart looks totally unique in design compared to the base model.

¶ Pirate Kitties
Cart Name: Lusty Kitten
A beautiful view of the scenery and being above everyone else is what the Lusty Kitten has to offer. It's crow's nest is equipped with the most comfortable seating space available at such heights. Two comfy cushioned spots are reserved for only the most noble pirates, placing them close to the steering wheel in case one of the pulling ponies is acting up. For such brats, the Lusty Kitten has just the solution: The cage located at the stern of the boat will keep them in check and stop them from any mischief. And when a pony gets really uppity, the easiest solution is to use it as figurehead. Restraining them for everyone to see just how poorly behaved they are. Alternatively beautiful eye candy can be used instead.
The hull oft the ship is made out of sturdy, locally 'found' wood and can withstand impacts easily. With it's pirate themed sail and flag, it is perfectly suited to attract stoats. The ship is gently placed on a trailer, which was custom made just for this ship out of the highest quality Krupp-Stahl acquirable. The trailer is pulled by up to three ponies which are secured using sturdy leather straps to ensure proper tightness and not a chance of escape for a pony once it is strapped in place.
This means the Cart can hold up to four passengers and three ponies. Two passengers on the cushioned bench, one in the crows' nest and the lucky caged individual. All three pulling ponies are positioned in front of the cart.
