¶ Introduction
Art can capture some of the most amazing things, especially times when we get completely bonkers! We wish to call on you all again for our third Week of Madness celebrations. Help us host another exhibition so that our members can show off their talents and feelings as we move into our fourth year.
¶ Where are the details!
It is time for us to throw caution to the wind and invite you to show us what you feel captures “The Mystery of Tall Tails”. We want as many contributions as possible so we have split the event into two parts:
Open submission: where all the pictures will be displayed at the Exhibit and we all can enjoy the great and creative work of everyone.
Art Competition: We encourage you to enter the picture into the actual competition as well.
The awards for the competition will be split into two sections, the People's Choice and Judges Choice competitions.
The exhibits will be available from day one of Week of Madness, Monday the 29th of May until the day of the Ceremony, Sunday the 4th of July. The public Vote will end at 8:00 AM SLT and the ceremony will start at 12 PM SLT. We have a beautiful garden prepared for the easels so drop by and see where your art will end up on display! All Artwork will be displayed there and the ones who enter the completion are marked with a VOTE button. We're also putting the winners of the previous Week of Madness Art Competition on display to get your creative juices flowing, but be aware these are not a part of the current competition.
Please be aware that TP might be limited while other competitions are going on.
¶ How Can I Take Part?

We are happy that you are interested in joining the exhibit! Please fill out the form below in a notecard and attach a picture you would like to submit (make sure it's Full Perm!) and drop it in the Red Mailbox at the Barn at Tall Tails Meadow, pictured above.

¶ What Will Happen at the Event
As you may have noted, the Exhibit will be part of the Week of Madness, and to give the artists a chance to show off there art, they will be available for viewing and voting a few days before the event.
¶ People's Choice
Starting on Monday, 29/05/2023, all the artwork submitted to the competition will be on display at the art gallery on the Week of Madness ruin area, everyone is welcome to come and look and voting will be open for all. Every person will be given 3 votes that they can give to any image that they wish. Each vote is worth a different amount of points.
Vote 1= 3 Points
Vote 2 = 2 Points
Vote 3 = 1 Point
Please note that once you have voted you can not remove your vote, so be sure you are happy with your choice before confirming the vote. If you wish to change your vote you must contact Magic or Eesoov. A change of vote will only be done under very exceptional circumstances.
Also, all votes while anonymous to the public are monitored by the event supervisors. Any suspicious activity will be dealt with firmly.
The result of the vote will be announced during the main event on 04/06/2023 by Eesoov.

Judges Choice
The Judges Choice award will be the focus of the main event of the Art Exhibit & Competition. During the main event, the public will have the last chance to view and vote for the art on display, but it will also be the time that the unidentified judges will be out to view and select their favourite piece of art at the event.
There will be three judges, all of whom will be unknown to the public, and will they will also have three votes to distribute among the art just like the rest. The difference is that their top pick for the event will be awarded with a Judges Choice trophy.
Once the judges have made their choices, all awards will be handed out and the event will come to a close.
¶ What Are the Rules (Wait there are rules!)
Tall Tails is unique to all of us and we really like to hear what you feel about our home. We hope the theme of this event 'Madness' will show us a lighthearted look at a place we all hold so dear. Be it the ponyplay, the insanity of the trainers, the ongoing war between the Ponizei and the Ponifia or the craziness that seem to occur once in a while. We want to know just what makes this place so unique. For you.
If you wish to display a piece of art which is not a picture, then please speak with Magic or Eesoov.
The criteria for judging a picture will be equally weighed between how well the picture relates to the current theme, creativity and techniques applied. Obviously we cannot dictate how the group as a whole will vote.

¶ Midnight Snack
The Neko Shrine exists as something of an enigma. It popped up one day, deep in the caverns of Pike, with little fanfare or explanation. More mysterious still, the residents of Tall Tails regularly leave offerings at this place, for reasons unknown. Cat food, tunya, toys, catnip... Who is this shrine honoring? What are the offerings for? Countless long nights were spent in the shadows with a camera trained on this very spot in an effort to solve this mystery. Now, I am pleased to present the results of this investigation to you. Make of it what you will.

¶ Pétales
This picture illustrates Pétales' downfall as told by Lady Constance (pehf) during Haloween 2020
"Once upon a time there was a happy little pony who loved flower dressage. Adored it! In fact, she even named herself after the French term for Flower, "Chose Colorée avec des Pétales."
Every day she would practice practice practice on the flower field. She could do 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 letter patterns, even wearing a blindfold and after eleven glasses of wine! She could do them running, she could do them riding a unicorn, she could even do multipony flower all by herself just by running very fast.
But one day...
One terrible day...
Oh no! Pétales had just finished an amazing 250 letter pattern all by herself when suddenly a sinister figure, dressed all in white, appeared at the corner of the field.
"Would you like to go... CARTING?" asked the watcher. "Would I?" exclaimed Pétales, or she would have had she not been wearing a gag, "That sounds delightful!" She stomped once, and found herself bound to a cart, ready to ride.
A few minutes later, she was on the open road, pulling the cart behind her, happy and contented to be so useful. The stranger whipped left, and whipped right, and she tried to keep up with the commands, but as the journey wore on, her confusion grew, and many of the commands took her to the edges of the roads.
A few minutes later, she was crashing into the fences of the sea-side cliff paths, and starting to get nervous. She whinnied in fear, as she glanced over the fence, seeing the waves crashing on the rocks below, but the driver carried on whipping. "Faster! Left, no right! Faster!" cried the driver.
And then... DISASTER STRUCK! She again crashed into the fence! The fence gave way and the cart hung over the edge of the cliff, with Pétales dangling from it above the waves. She turned her head, looking for her driver, but her driver had run away!
There was a bolt of lightning! A crack of thunder! The cart had been struck! It snapped into two, and the poor, poor, pony hurtled to her doom below!
And that was the end of dear Pétales. Or... was it? Some say that if you go to the flower field, and sit on her favorite letter, the A, and say aloud a pattern, she will hear you. Sometimes a mysterious glowing orb will perform the pattern in front of you, a ghost, they say, of old Pétales. And other times, she will seem to ignore you, but if you try to do the pattern yourself, she will kindly tell you when you make a mistake. Nobody knows for sure, but there are so many stories about the ghost of Pétales, you have to wonder if some of them, perhaps, are true..."

¶ its Just A Dream
i feel this shows the mystery of Tall Tails in many ways, it has restraints and latex, big themes at Tall Tails and also brings the question of who is in the latex? and who is sitting on them?

¶ Worship
Hints of forgotten rituals are dotted all about Tall Tails. This particular place seems to possess a curious ayre about it. A pony can no better contemplate how to worship this forgotten site than a person but they can't not believe in things greater than them when their world is reduced to that of a beast of burden.

¶ Abandon
That Tall Tails can have such incredible cliffs and forests and ponds yet also have a deep dark history hidden away in secret places encourages us to explore and imagine what society created such a dark and scary punishment.

Who better than Mystery Incorporated ... in latex ... and ghostly ... to capture mystery next to Tall Tail's own Mystery Machine. Sort of.
May be the real mystery is why I thought this was a good idea. Somehow this will all come back to a real estate scam though.

¶ Orbs of Mystery
I took this back during the Great Glue Fiasco.
What -were- these mysterious, glowing, and moving orbs.
Drifting in a graceful dance over a forgotten corner of Tall Tails, they caused me to stop and wonder -- and document.
Did they come from the Tunnels? The Swamp? Someplace beyond all reason?

¶ What is Blueberry?
Ever since the blue-furred being known as "Blueberry" arrived on the grounds of Tall Tails, experts have debated just what he is. Arrested and forced into tack, he continues to serve as a pony, but no one can agree on what he is. DNA tests, testimony, fierce claims, even the most ardent of evidence has been met with suspicion and counter arguments, with nothing answering the question for good.
Is he a stoat?
A wolf?
A pony?
A pillow?
Some mixture there in?
Something else entirely?
The debate rages with no end in sight.

¶ Past, Present, Future
Who was here before us? We see evidence of them scattered all over the land but we know nothing about who they were. Where did they go? Would they approve of what we have done to the land? How would they react to our lifestyle? I wonder if they would take part in all the chaos or if they would look at is and just shake their heads while walking away. Maybe I'll look into it deeper, do some digging, look for more clues... after a nap, and maybe another nap.
