Tall Tails began as single sim in the year of 2019 and has since grown to become a multi-private sim estate with numerous carting hubs scattered around various continents across SecondLife. With this expansion we have had to look into implementing a teleportation system that allows both trainers and ponies to safely navigate our lands, this has culminated in the creation of the Teleportation Circle system.
Each sim or parcel within the Tall Tails estate will either contain a Teleportation Circle or a Basic Teleportation Zone.
This page will explain in detail how the system works to give you the best chance of teleporting without an accident!
In order for any of the teleportation services to work, you must allow the Experience prompt you will receive the first time you use one of our devices.
PLEASE NOTE. The act of disassembling your body at the atomic level when passing through a Teleportation Circle does result in the death of the person or pony making the journey. The being created after the reconstitution of the atoms is considered legally distinct from the original. Tall Tails is not liable for any complications that may arise from the de-atomising effects of the Teleportation Circle and all complaints will be sternly and promptly ignored.
Teleportation Circles are found at all major locations at Tall Tails. As the name implies, they are built into circular structures on the sim and can be either active or inactive depending on how much time has passed since their last use.
Currently you can find Teleportation Circles at the following places:
Each Teleportation Circle will be linked to a Ticket Machine, which will be located close by. These Ticket machines are used to pick a destination for the portal by either click the machine, or if you find yourself unable to click they will react to being walked into.
Upon activating the ticket machine you will be given a SecondLife menu with options for you to choose. This top level menu allows you to select whether you wish to go to a sim based location or to somewhere else within SecondLife.
Once you have selected you top layer menu, you will then be shown a context sensitive menu with a list of potential locations. To activate the portal simply select the desired destination, which when done will cause the screen on the machine to change to display your desired destination, and then press CONFIRM.
You will notice that once confirmed the Teleportation Portal will spring into life and an image of your designation will appear within the centre. At this point you have 1 minute to enter the portal before the magic will stop.
Basic Teleportation Zones are one-way teleporters that link back to the Tall Tails Meadow Bus Station. These are usually situated at the various carting depots found throughout SecondLife but you may find some used on the main sims either for important locations or temporary event spaces.
These devices do not have an associated Ticket Machine nearby and simply require the user to walk into the portal.
These kinds of portals can either have the standard portal effect or simply be a normal Tall Tails wheel.
Each location will have their Basic Teleportation Zone in a different place, so keep your eyes open to find them!
